Naneghat Trek
Sleeping in a cave with the warmth from a bonfire scarcely reminded us the fight for survival, but even more than that it gave a smashing blow to our whole personality.
Hike through the panoramic forest trail of the Sahyadri range that connects the two mountain passes Naneghat and Malshej Ghat.
Both these passes promise phenomenal views of the surrounding hills, valleys and forts Shivneri, Chawand, Hadsar and Jivdhan.
The trail leads from the Naneghat Cave, which used to be a toll pass back in middle ages (200 BCE - 190 CE) collecting coin (nane) from traders crossing hills and leads us through a downhill forest hike almost the entire route. We end our hike on the Junnar Kalyan highway which forms a part of the Malshe Ghat.
